(16) Seminar – Pine Chemistry and Analytical Tools used in Characterization of Resins

On Monday the 2nd of March 2020, from 6:30pm* to 9:00pm, the 16th Savannah Science Seminar** will be on “the Pine Chemistry & Analytical Tools used in Characterizations of Resins”. Your instructor, Dr Gerry Heebner and SSS Board Member/program facilitator Jim Goodlett will be at the host site of Arizona Chemical (a Kraton Co), here in Savannah Georgia.

* Arrive NLT 6:15pm as Dr Heebner for sign-in and collection of Release Forms (see link below)
** Please wear comfortable, casual clothes and closed toe shoes

*** Please bring a signed signed waiver Kraton 2020 (1) release form in order to attend tonight’s session as required by Arizona Chemical, a Kraton Company, or you will not be permitted to enter the facility (download as a PDF by clicking the link above)

Brief Biography:
Dr Gerry Heebner
Dr. Heebner received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Bachelor of Arts in Physics from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania in 1984.  He went on to earn his Doctorate Degree in Physical Chemistry from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania in 1990 with a focus on Surface and Colloidal Chemistry.  He has worked in the Pine Chemical Industry over the past 27 years with Union Camp and Arizona Chemical Company.  Within this industry, he has worked in various areas including waterborne dispersions for the adhesives and inks industries, mineral ore flotation and various applications within the Oleochemical field. He has held various positions including Research Scientist, Technology Manager and Strategic Planning/New Product Development.  He currently holds the position of Business Development Manager – Technology for the Chemical Intermediates Business Unit at the Arizona Chemical Technology Center in Savannah, Georgia.
