(10) Seminar – Engineering Technology for Ocean Exploration (Biomimicry)

On Monday the 13th of January 2020 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, the 10th Savannah Science Seminar Presentation will be on “How to Build a Radio Operated underwater Vehicle (ROV)”. Your presenter, Chapter Director of Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, Jody Patterson, along with SSS Board Members and program facilitators  Jim Goodlett will be at the host site, Savannah Christian Preparatory School in the Library.

Brief OUTline:
Among a vast array of information you will be getting, the following is a brief outline to the presentation (SSS10_Grays Reef Agenda):
· Grays Reef Marine Sanctuary
· Using underwater remote cameras to observe natural phenomena
· Design and retrieval capabilities of robotic camera systems
· Biomimicry in Engineering Design and Engineering Design Visioning

Brief Biography:
Jody Patterson
Ms Patterson is currently the Chapter Director for Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. She is experienced community outreach coordinator with a demonstrated history of success in government administration along with private industry. Skilled in business development, public relations, education, and special events coordination. Strong operations professional with technical skills and analytical mind. Facilitator of education programs designed for engaging the public in environmental stewardship through the arts and technologies.

From the Downtown.

1. Travel east on I-16, exit the Chatham Parkway exit.

2. At the top of the ramp, turn left or north, and take your first left into the Savannah Christian Preparatory School campus.

3. Go approximentally 200 feet and turn left at the parking lot as shown in the map below.

4. Proceed all the way around to the library where the session will be held.
